sterioma 0 Posted January 16, 2004 Uncommon composition and point of view. Maybe a little overexposed? (or maybe that's exactly what you chose to do :) ) Link to comment
jennifercatron 9 Posted January 16, 2004 The three lines in the center seem like a distraction to me. Composition is sort of all over the place, but the chaos seems to go along with the subject matter. Good job. Link to comment
leorossi 0 Posted January 18, 2004 The shot was undoubtedly overexposed. It belonged to a 400 ASA film roll I exposed at 1600. The contrast and grain got bloated, which worked OK for all the rest of the shots - a collection of interior portraits I had to take without flashlight. It is chaotic and at the same time frozen, because of the fast shutter speed. Link to comment
neelucidat 0 Posted January 23, 2004 I don't know why, but this photo appeals to me so much! It might be the way yhe objects are displaced, in combination with those lines. Congratulations! Link to comment
leorossi 0 Posted January 24, 2004 Thank you Ana, I'm very pleased you liked this one. Link to comment
nino1 0 Posted January 30, 2004 In general I like to have well defined textures, but I think that in this case this high contrast work for the image. Maybe you could try to crop the upper part of the image. Link to comment
cux 0 Posted February 3, 2004 Leo, the grained effect works well here, and so does the heavy contrast. Maybe you should try to enhance the contrast to reduce the objects in the photo to pure shapes. Also I like the unusual perspective: the man in the bottom left corner is perfect. Link to comment
leorossi 0 Posted February 3, 2004 Thanks Antonio and Andrea. I have considered cropping the top, but I figured I would end up with an odd frame ratio. Also, I feel the need to keep the bike on the opposite corner to the man (maybe he just wants to go and get on his bike). As for the contrast, that might be an interesting idea if I could burn in the margin of the car top (lower right). I have attained an almost 'pure shape' kinda image on the same roll with a different subject but I'm hesitant in posting it. Link to comment
cux 0 Posted February 4, 2004 Yes! The idea that the man is going to take his bike is brilliant! I mean, I was not bored by the bike, but after this revelation it becomes necessary for the image, being a part of the story told in the photo. By the way I'm curious to see the other image. marius_finkenhagen 0 Posted February 11, 2004 Wow, liked this one alot! Great point of view! The over-exposion kinda works because it gives something extra to it and the guy kinda points more out. very cool! Link to comment
m. sh. 0 Posted March 24, 2004 Its a powerful photo, unusual point of view and composition gives an unstable feeling. Good job, Link to comment
brandonhamilton 0 Posted March 29, 2004 This photo really belongs on a wall! I rarely comment on photos, usually only taking the time when one strikes something inside me. This one in particular is the best in your portfolio. Something about the bizzare tilt and the unique placement of subjects makes this very very good. I almost feel like I have my head hanging out of a window. I also get a very neat feeling that the man in the corner is admiring the motorcycle on the opposite corner, perhaps day dreaming about a motorcycle ride getaway! Very cool. The only two things that distract me, are the very ends of the cars located mid-right, and botom-right. I think the photo would be stronger without. A+ Link to comment

brandonhamilton 0 Posted August 18, 2004 I come back to this photo all the time. I still think it is possibly the best photo on all of photo.net. (just a subjective opinion of course) :) Link to comment
