I'm not a gun person at all, but this photo is a well lit, well composed still shot. The diagonal line is strong and creates interest. At least it's not loaded :)

Shing: I love your use of lighting here. And although I applaud your decision to photograph the gun with the slide locked back for its orginality, I think the gun looks much better "in battery", or with the slide forward. It would have been cooler to have bullets in the magazine as well, in my opinion. By the way, I live in Connecticut and only about 10 minutes away from where your beautiful Colt was manufactured.

First of, thank you all for taking the time to look at my picture! I highly apperciate it.

A little information about the subject: This is NOT A REAL GUN. It is a TOY. It's a replica that uses refrigant gas (HFC 134a, which is charged up inside the magazine) and is able to shoot out little pellets at extreamly low power/velocities (~1 joule). This particular replica is made by Western Arms and is a Gas blow back model. For more info you should check out these two sites:

The forums are a great place to start asking ;)

Where I live (Hong Kong), firearms are illegal to own, thus for any gun enthuist, airsofting is the way to go.

Anyhow, I've found that pictures with the slide in battery are generally quite weak. It's hard to get a good angle yet lighten the shadows (my camera doesn't have a hot shoe). This is espically true with the Glocks since they don't have much curvature/pronouced areas.

Once again, thanks for taking a look at my picture :)
