This is not so popular subject, heavy industry. We prefer watching

nature, citylife or a nude. Still it is there and waiting to be

registered. I made a small serie of 1 film of wich the best (in my

eyes) I will place on photo.net. Tried to make the photo's in a

descriptive manner.

I love photo's of industry and this is no exception, it shows the darker side of progress and man's 'advances', who knows maybe they make photo chemicals there. My advice would be to crop out most of the sky since your photo is about the factory, cut out everything aboce the prominant cloud of steam on the right. I think the factory itself could be printed a bit lighter too. In all though, nice photo.

Very crisp and well thought out, I agree, just a bit less sky, and therefore more industry. This is near your house ? I will take a pic of the Milk Factory near my house here in Korumburra. We will compare.....*R*

I think this is a splendid photograph. I usually passed these industrial places on a bus going to places I did not want to go to, and looking through the window my eyes would be popping out of my head. You did a fine job.

Hi Kai, thanks for your thorough critique, must have been the nature photographer in me :-), I am normally quite strict in cropping! But I think you're right, the eye is led away because of the sky, so I probably change this one in the coming days more or less according to your suggestions. And roger, wished this was a milk factory... photochemicalls I can think of more. yes , this is only 4 miles away, and all the industry you will see in my folder can be found in about 1 or 2 miles of the 20! By this time there are tight rules about the pollution, but I spoke some older people who told me when there was a fog in the fifties their panty's eroded from their legs...

Hans maybe not a popular subject but I like them and feel it is a good subject to photograph. I like the sky and smoke in this one.
