Guest Guest Posted January 12, 2004 Adam, this makes one appreciate the richness of a fine transparency film like Velvia. Looks like a lovely TIF scan converted nicely to JPG. Comp, light, and colors are extraordinary, needless to say. Kudos to minimalism in full color, details, and tonality. regards - Gary Link to comment
sterioma 0 Posted January 12, 2004 I love the colours and the texture of the fields.Did you use a polarizer filter? I noticed that the left side of the sky is darker than the right side... Link to comment
adamburton 0 Posted January 12, 2004 Thanks for your comments guys. In answer to Stefanos question, yes I did use a polariser. I am aware of the strong blue in the top left, and wish I hadnt turned the polariser quite so much. But then again, I think it works well against the intense green too. Thanks, Adam. Link to comment
alethea_hollis 0 Posted January 13, 2004 Great shot, different from you usual landscapes, and I had to take a look and see where this was taken, thought it was Italy, but nice to see it is the UK and just as picturesque. You've caught a fabulous cloud formation, and the trees in the distance draw the eye beautifully. Nice job. Alethea Link to comment

deozmac 0 Posted January 15, 2004 Adam - stunning! The thumb made me think it had been heavily modded in Photoshop, due to the flowing texture of the field. As a pilot I love the degree of sky shown. The image makes me really miss the verdancy of Europe. Thanks for sharing this image. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted January 15, 2004 Great photo Adam. Where was it taken. looks like chalk soil. Sussex? Link to comment
adamburton 0 Posted January 15, 2004 Thanks for your comments folks. In answer to where it is, it is in Hampshire, at the start of the South Downs, so yes, very chalky. kind regards, Adam. Link to comment
changpeng_zhao 0 Posted February 18, 2004 Nice shot. Being a computer geek, the first thing I thought was: "wow, MS could have sold a few more copies of Windows XP if they had used this image as the default background!!" :) Link to comment
