Fantastic mixture of light, and the sense of power in the sea. It must have been hard to keep camera steady...well done

Incredible! I would not crop anything on this photo. The dimensions of the wave (specially it´s high) is very well captured even if you did not use a tripod. The blue tone of the night fits also very well.

Si señor!. Not only formal composition is excellent, but you also combine in a great way both types of lighting with different color temperatures. One of your best ones.

A beautiful and awe inspiring dramatic moment! Minor improvements: based on the small part of horizon shown, there is a slight tilt down to the right; also, maybe clone out the small light out on the water. I love the way the texture of the high wave matches that of the low cloud. Thanks for this great image.

Tremenda imagen, esto yo lo he visto en directo, pero es mas impresionante en la foto, saludos.

Congrats on this one Imanol. How many did you take before getting this one? I love the movement you captured on the wave (and the rest of the shot very sharp), as well as the mix of colors: blue-cold and redish-hot.

Una foto espectacular! Hay algun detalle técnico que se podría mejorar pero ya te lo diré por mail. Pero, mantengo que es una foto espectacular sín lugar a duda.

Here you touch the inner heart of every sea lover. When the photographer lovbes, craves and longs for the sea and these waves, as it's my case, he's carried out by the grandeur of this image, both from the nature point of view and from the photographic one.

My congratulations, Imanol

fantasic work, waiting for dusk and the street lights come into effect is fantastic. The big waves are great but what makes the image for me is the color

Is this a digital compososite? I could be wrong but for a wave of this height to be crashing over a sea wall like that I would expect the whole sea to be a raging mass of white water. If you look at the sea behind the wave it looks surprisingly calm with no white horses, rollers etc. Also, the bottom of the wave appears to be lit quite strongly - something the street light would be unable to do due to the light source pointing straight down. I suppose there could be a light source underneath the railings but I would imagine it would need to be a very strong light to penetrate that ammount of water to show up so bright on the image. If you say it is unmanipulated then fair enough - I hold my hands up to a very well taken photo and please forgive my scepticism. Could you then let me know what aperture and shutter speed you used for this shot?

Yes. Aperture was wide open at f/1.8, while the shutter speed used was 1/4s.

ISO was in Auto mode, arising, from the picture data, in 125 ASA, and no, it

isn't a digiral composite. Only automatic levels adjstment with PS. I think

the camera helped to make the picture, too.

hay Imanol, nice this coastal shot of Donostia it does remember me of

material I made of Luarca on the same Basque coast. for a long time I have

been fascinated by the coastal quest, fighting the sea. the sea has all the

time in the world, is indifferent and will finally win from the landside. I

did graphics, paintings and photo`s on this subject. thank you for your

impressive sea view, in return I send you a picture of a cardboard graphic I

made of Luarca coast, the wild sea is bashing the coast. yours mike.
