return_visit 0 Posted January 10, 2004 Very exposed woman! She has more portraits here than DaVinci had sketches! She's a beautiful woman, but you could limit your posting of her image with so little variety in all! Besides, what woman wants to see into each pore on her face? What does she think of this image? juan monino 0 Posted January 10, 2004 Avatar, I am sorry to have so many pictures of Paula requested for critique. I use this board members opinions to choose the best pics in every photo session I do with a model. Thats why you see so many pictures of the same model during a short period of time. My apology if this bothers you. Link to comment
jerrymat 5 Posted January 10, 2004 It seems the lighting here is at cross purposes. The accent light from picture left is harsh upon her cheek. If you study the shadows on the face you can sense that the light sources are fighting rather than revealing her face. Link to comment
snoozer 0 Posted January 10, 2004 I like it. Quite frankly, I'm sick to death of all these over photoshopped portraits so it's nice to see a 'real' person for a change. I like the lighting and considering it's shot using digital, you've metered extremely well not to have blown the highlights. Well done !!! zzzz.. Link to comment
juan monino 0 Posted January 13, 2004 I really appreciatte your comments, I am learning digital from almost zero. As Jerry mentioned me in his e mail, with digital, you learn something new every day. I think photoshop is like make up in woman, the secret is to use it without being noticed thank you both, again, for your inputs Link to comment
thomas_collins1 0 Posted January 14, 2004 A lovely girl indeed! I'm glad to see that you are learning through experimentation and asking folks what works and what doesn't. That's exactly what I am still doing and will continue to do 40 years from now. I've taken the liberty to make some slight adjustments to your photo here. Using a series of gradual steps, I softened the photo and still retained the sharpness of the important features. Hope you like it! Write me if you want the details. Link to comment
thomas_collins1 0 Posted January 14, 2004 Well, lets try this again. The blasted server failed on the upload.... ;-( [added after the upload]: Ah, it worked, but I'm not too happy about the way her skin tone shifted towards red. It's not that way in PS and I saved it web-safe. hmmm... more to learn. ;-) [Yet another add}: ops! The photo should have read, "Paula", not Paul. I don't know how to change that... Link to comment
