amanda mumma 0 Posted January 15, 2004 Just a few things to help you along the way. The man's expression is good - it is solemn but quite imposing, typical of an older more formal portrait. It is important to really look at your background thouhg. The lamp looks like it is growing out of his head and the eye is immediately drawn to the white timber. The eye is always drawn first to light colours before dark and scarlet red too. It would also have been better if he wasn't so central with a lot of empty space behind him and its ashame his hands weren't included. There is alot to look for before the shutter is pressed!
