igor_sarzynski 0 Posted January 7, 2004 I met him at Biesczady mountains. He's a coal burner, he lives at total waste (nearest houses 10 km away) with a little friend of him. Not posed, i thought i'm gonna faint when i saw this giant guy gently taking kitty and taking him away from furnace...All comments are pleased. Link to comment
austinallen 0 Posted January 7, 2004 There is something very compelling about this image! Great composition, and the lighting on his face adds to the mood. Excellent shot! Link to comment

bentes_world 0 Posted January 8, 2004 I like this photo very much. There are so many contrasts - not only tecnically but also in the motiv - The little cute kitten - who has a brash look and the big dark strong man looking so gender .... and they are both worth looking at. Link to comment
maxhaynes 0 Posted January 8, 2004 This is one of those fantastic moments when you were so lucky to have your camera handy but what you've done with it takes it from kismet to art, very masterful. Link to comment
gabrielma 0 Posted January 9, 2004 This reminds me of another set of shots from a photographer whose name I forget at this moment, of a prisoner also handling a kitten. What makes this stand out and different from that series is the beautiful poses, and the effectiveness of the blown highlights from the cat's fur. I wonder if the details could be salvaged on its fur? Very nice! Link to comment
matt_pearson3 0 Posted January 9, 2004 Beautiful image. Man and beast. What are theior names? Show more. Link to comment
ricardojmendez 0 Posted January 9, 2004 One of those few photos I've seen here that I'd truly like to have printed to hang. The contrasts between his coal-covered skin and the kitten's clean fur, his tense body and the kitten's relaxed pose, the fact that he looks strong and muscular while the kitten is obviously a just a baby; all make it an image where your gaze just keep moving around, looking for more detail. It's also tender. While you can't fully see his expression, the wrinkles around his eyes make it look like he's smiling, content in being with his friend. A beautiful image. Link to comment
andreasalini 0 Posted January 9, 2004 Fantastic. I really like the contrast between Man and cat, black and white.... well done! Link to comment
navarra 0 Posted January 10, 2004 It's unbelievable this is not posed. You are really telling a story here! One of the best pictures on the site, only minor drawbacks are the cropped tail and the overexposure on the cat's fur. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful image. Simone Link to comment
igor_sarzynski 0 Posted January 10, 2004 Thank You all for Your comments. On the negative there are some more details - on cats fur and on man's face either. I have some more shots of this unusal pair, but none of them is as good as this picture. Man's name is Karol, someone who had seen this photo send me an email "hey, i know this guy"... I'm sure to visit him coming summer. Link to comment
eric__damn_those_seagulls_1664877331 0 Posted January 10, 2004 Easy now Lenny. Of kittens and men?!? Link to comment
maria_s. 1 Posted January 24, 2004 Upload all the photographs from Bieszczady because the second one you have up is already better than this. And this one would be awesome if you uploaded whole frame. Don't mind clutter, don't make this a studio portrait -- whatever was around him is important for this kind of photography. Link to comment
