DragonFly Portrait -"Wotcha looking at?"-

Hi all,

Yes I know the DOF isn't that high. But despite that and the centered composition

what do people think of this photo? I am trying to improve my photography. So all

comments and constructive criticism is welcome as it will can only help me in the long

road ahead.

Actually, since only the head is on focus, I'd try to get the rest even a bit more out of focus. I'm talking about the front letgs and the top of the wings.

I think that the head has enough detail to be the only/main subject in this shot.

But hey, I'm a beginner as well :-)

hmm Fernando good idea I might try that later in Photoshop. But I wanted to leave the photo as it is how it was taken at that moment :D

oh wow, this is a cool shot. very original i'd say. you rarely if at all see front shots of insects! the lower wings could be a little more clearer, as well as the object it's standing on, but other than that, great! oh yeah, the green tinge on the bottom right, if that could be faded/blurred like that on the top left hand corner, it wouldn't take your attention away from the insect as much but the insect's body is really sharp, it doesn't take that much attention away from the subject of focus

haven't seen a dragonfly this upclose and personal before. Very nice shot. It makes you laugh when you first see it....lol well done
