c brake 0 Posted January 14, 2004 Everything just came together spontaneously on the day this was shot. It is one of my favorite photos. Link to comment
chris rake 0 Posted January 14, 2004 Adorable shot - good DOF with blurred background. Not too distracting, but not 100% boring either. However there is a lot of spare background, and a tighter zoom/crop may help on the composition. It probably isn't necessary to get the left hand in the shot for example. Great moment though. Exposure look a little dark, but not too bad given the lighting was up and behind the subject and you're dealing with the shadows. Link to comment
atelier voor fotografie 0 Posted February 4, 2004 Sweet picture. I will not rate it, i'm afraid you'll think it is a reaction on your 1/1 rating on my 'last supper' posting... Some comment would be appreciated! Maybe this house, garden and kitchen photographer can learn me something. I am eager to learn, Floris. Link to comment
c brake 0 Posted February 5, 2004 Floris, I'd be happy to discuss the issue with you if we can find a way to contact one another in a different forum. But for here and now, I'm pretty sure my rating was an emotional reaction. Link to comment
tomsperduto 0 Posted November 14, 2004 You caught a very nice moment. I agree it would be stronger tighter. Hope you don't mind, but here it is a bit tighter. Link to comment
c brake 0 Posted November 16, 2004 Thank you, Tom, and no I don't mind at all. I'm happy for any feedback I can get :) Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted November 28, 2004 I like this shot very much. It shows the love between mother and child. Radiates a beautiful spheer of love and care. Link to comment
satishmenonphoto 0 Posted December 7, 2005 I like the diagonal composition here. Of course, the candid expression of mom-child love is great too. Link to comment
c brake 0 Posted December 8, 2005 Thank you Satish. Even though this image could be better, it remains one of my favorites. Link to comment
c brake 0 Posted December 8, 2007 Ada and Lukas, I really appreciate your comments and the time you took to leave them. You are both right about the emotional aspect of this image. This mother is totally in love with her children and being a mom. This photo was taken prior to this little boy being diagnosed with life threatening allergies. So the emotions have just deepened with time. They are a very special family that God looks over carefully. Link to comment
c brake 0 Posted December 8, 2007 Hi Chris and Tom, thank you for your suggestions and for taking the time to make them. This was taken right after I got my first "real" camera and was MUCH more enthusiastic than knowledgeable about photography. Even with it's imperfections it remains one of my favorites. Tom, I don't mind at all that you cropped it and appreciate the help. Link to comment
c brake 0 Posted December 8, 2007 Thank you, Satish. I had no idea at the time I was getting anything diagonal, just knew I had to have the shot! lol Link to comment
