laura_maish 0 Posted June 17, 2001 I have been trying to get this criter for a couple of years. He finally stood still for more than a split second and opened his wings. I was hand holding the 70-200 zoom and happened to have it at 2.8 - click! I welcome all comments! thanks. Laura Link to comment
paulfisher 0 Posted June 17, 2001 You've got the eyes tack-sharp! Nice shooting. Is the background natural? - it looks like a blank piece of card or someting similar. I always think that backgrounds like this can stand a little digital magic without detracting from the main object of the photograph. Link to comment
g1 0 Posted June 17, 2001 well done - nicely caught! I agree with Paul about the background though, it makes the pic look false somehow. Might be worth trying to change the hue in photoshop Link to comment

isaac sibson 0 Posted October 20, 2001 I much prefer the original to the suggested edited version...the edit looses the wonderful vibrancy of the dragonfly. Beautifully sharp. I have to ask though...is it cropped, or did you use a teleconverter or extension tube? I know that the 70-200 F2.8L can't focus close enough for this natively (even the F4L can't, and that can focus a foot closer). I only ask in order to emulate (wishing my insect photography was this good!!). Link to comment
