I caught this shot at the very end of a 16hr. shift in East Hampton,

CT where I work as a police sergeant. I was a bit bleary eyed due

to fatigue, but managed to get a couple nice shots. I have long

carried my camera with me on-duty always hoping that I'd get some

nice actions shots somewhere. Trouble is, I'm usually the one

involved, not the one taking pics. But since I'm not a firefighter

and all residents had been successfully evacuated from this house, I

didn't have much to do but shoot some photos. Looks like a scene

from the movie Back Draft.

Well developed, but the picture doesn't capture a story. This was not a crucial moment for them. *pause* Having just read your crit request, I must say that this is a very good photo, given the circumstances. But this is a photojournalism picture, and that still means that it's Good when you can see the before and after around the moment you capture.

Yeah, admittedly there's not too much story here. It's more of a novelty shot due to the limited opportunity to capture such images. I put another shot in my portfolio from this same fire that shows a fire fighter hurriedly moving away from the blaze while a large ball of fire that looks like a dragon looms overhead. That would have been a better one to post, but I learned that you can only put in one at a time.

Thanks for the input, nonetheless!

Love the colours! Yes, it would be better with them 'doing' something... but it is still very good! I also like your second (attached) photo - well done!
