I think this is great shot David.

 

I can guess you've gone over the falls enough times capturing these to know when you've gotten a good one or think you have. Not sure if you're one of the 'stick the camera into the pipe and hope for the exposure" or 'view it real time from inside the pipe and then go for a ride' kind of surf shooters. Either way, congrats on a great capture.

 

The sun position is risky but the wave eats much of that light and gives an excellent sub-surface effect through the barrellroof and I like the cropping angle - implies a that i'm moving up the face as well.

 

But I think the thing I like most about the shot is mostly accidental - and that's the formation on the edge of the wave that reminds me of teeth and a mouth this guy is jetting out of - here's to serendipity.
