justin_orr 0 Posted December 27, 2003 good lighting, although i think the teddy bear is a bit distractive Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 27, 2003 Very nice idea. Agree with Justin. As is I'd lose the fruit bowl and table, too. But if I had my choice, I'd replace the fruit bowl with the teddy bear; then the photo would be awesome! Happy holidays and new year (pass on the rating) Link to comment
ciofalo 0 Posted December 27, 2003 Sweet subject. I agree that Gary Spielvogel's changes improve the visual impact a lot. Link to comment
syl_f._greg 0 Posted December 27, 2003 Thanks a lot, Justin and Michele for your constructive comments. Gary, no doubt, my photo is better like that : thank you for your time. Link to comment
walter_strong3 0 Posted December 28, 2003 But I love the left side of this image. Great expression on the boy. Link to comment
xavier_bonet 0 Posted December 28, 2003 Great moment! Fabulous expression, innocent sweet, magic light and warmly simple. Reflecting a lot the Christmas spirit, captures a decisive moment. Sure it would look better with fewer objects; but, I look at the positive, the left side and then my eye goes towards the fruit still life and finally to the teddy bear. It brings me from the highest innocence to the lowest about Christmas, so we can see its dichotomy. Link to comment
rob_mitchell 0 Posted December 29, 2003 Although this picture screams "staged" I think you still pull it off successfully, good pic. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 2, 2004 I like Gary's changes, too. The original still has merit, though. Link to comment
jfochoa 0 Posted January 4, 2004 Simply beautiful and a lovely picture!!! Nice expression. Congrats! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 12, 2004 i like the tones , the composition that jump across the table. the expression of the child is very good too. the teddy bear , ha the teddy bear... well it is true that it would be better without, more for the signification that for a graphic reason. but it is still a very beautiful picture. Perhaps you could dark it (the bear) very much like you would do in a classical darkroom ? Link to comment
connealy 0 Posted February 28, 2004 Nice to find someone exhibiting pictures with subjects they clearly feel deeply about. So much of photo.net seems to be about a desperate chase after eye catching abstractions that are ultimately ephemeral and meaningless. Link to comment
fredericpascual 0 Posted March 5, 2004 you should shot more people,,,,I am sure it will be nice..... Link to comment

Alex_Es 388 Posted January 22, 2005 My heavens, this is very good. It could be horridly sentimental but it is not. It is simply a pleasant moment in childhood nicely captured. Nice to work by a photographer who likes children but does not slobber all over them (if you know what I mean). I good photograph (like any good work of art) changes your perception of the world. I am forced to rethink the nature of childhood. Link to comment
