go ahead, don't be nice, be honest.

Honestly, were it not for the caption, I wouldn't have understood the meaning of this photo - either I am particularly dumb, or the message is not clearly conveyed. The large amount of plastic (ice cube wrappings?) is distracting, and the general darkness is not particularly pleasant. I am not enthusiastic about photos that try to "tell a story", and prefer those that either catch or build a visual effect, not a concept. Well, as you see I don't feel nice tonight.

that's what i asked for :).

well i wasn't sure whether to choose a clear caption (as i did) or not. in this case I thought the context to be important. there is still space for fantasy, though.

regarding the plastic wrap, i didn't really care, actually...perhaps i should have done so.

and the darkness is that what i like about it ;))

 

This is a photo I see in my newspaper about the homeless.... I think photography can be an instrument for telling a story. This one does.
