I altered that background on this image to soften it and give it a painted look,

pretty much untouched are the cactus and the tree in the middle of them

although I did soften them ever so slightly. I would really appreciate your

opinions. Thank You!

I like the image, but wonder how it would look if the background were a bit more blurred; to create a shallower depth of field look. If you have the background in a separate PS layer, it would be easy to try.

It is like a painting. I don't like worked-on photos, Marlene, but I can't help but drool over yours!

Composition and color mood are wonderful. The textured treatment of the background mimicks the cactus fruit. Just about everthing works marvelously, although the upper right appears a bit faceted and attracts attention to itself.

Originality should be appraised not on whether something has been done before or not, but how what has been applied affects the viewer's subjective experience of the image. Here, the PS treatment is superbly considered and effective.

This is one of my favorites. I am enjoying looking at all your images. The P/S effects are gorgeous. Photoshop is wonderful, but unless you know what to change and what not to change, the end results are not always so beautiful. You have mastered both the photography aspect in combination with the P/S tool. Again I am inspired.
