steve_bingham 0 Posted December 25, 2003 Very nice, Ben. I wish the eyes were not so dark, especially the left one. Nevertheless, a very nice portrait. Link to comment
alex_timmermans 0 Posted December 25, 2003 Een hele mooie subtiele foto, bijna fragiel Link to comment
phil_derosier 0 Posted December 25, 2003 Yes, I agree ... the right model eye is much too dark. Oftentimes, photographers spend precious little time on model appearance. And while we're on the issue of model appearance, let's do something about those terrible short, unpainted fingernails. The finger itself needs a gentle inward curl so as to remove some of the lines ... it'll help differentiate the feminine finger from a man's finger ... unless, of course, that's what the artist wanted(?!?) I rate it as 8.5 to 9.0 Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted December 25, 2003 Good use of tones and composition. Excellent! Will be most honored if you have time to visit my site. Link to comment
jack_lyric 0 Posted December 25, 2003 Hey ben, very eery to some extent, very thought provoking, and, very pleasing! how much overexposure for that high key? and what light set up did you use? Link to comment
ben.goossens 0 Posted December 25, 2003 Thanks for the comments, I agree about the darker eye and will do some other corrections aswell. To Jack, this was a normal, banal indoor shooting with indirect flash Nikon SB28, it has been treaded with PS with the "Dodge tool" in the darken and midtones, afterwards I ajusted the colours. An easy job if you have long experience with PS. You never optain such a result with high-key lighting or over-exposing. Best regards, Ben Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted December 31, 2003 Excellent as usual! It didn't jump out at me shouting, "Ben Goossens" though! I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Link to comment

cile, fine art photographe 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Dodge and burn in mid tones , then add color back? OK ! This is so wonderful. I will post my try, even if it turns out poor. Thanks, Cile Link to comment
cile, fine art photographe 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Not as well as you , of course, but I get the idea. Now comes the practise. I will try and post it here on your site, and when you have the time, maybe give me a suggestion? Your friend, Cile Link to comment
