I'm interested in feedback on the quality of the digital enhancement I

used with this photograph both from a technical standpoint (eg. does

it look like I digitally altered it?) and from an aesthetic

perspective (eg. was black and white for the skin a good choice?).

For the title, the overlapping hands prove to be a major distraction because of their naturalness and their beautiful positioning. Try, just cropping the hands for a stand alone pic.

Hey! Someone else uses The Gimp! :) (Actually I haven't tried it out on any photos yet but I use it for everything else...) The black and white for the skin is pretty cool looking..

I think the shot is strong enough without the coloring...they look a bit sickly. Or maybe if the colors were more subtle, rather than the complementary red and green.

Technically the shot has been executed well, but the pose is forced and the man's expression is peculiar. What might have been a tender or slightly erotic shot ends up looking kind of cheesy.

I'm not really sure what someone would find so disturbing about a man kissing a pregnant belly. I know I've done the same to my wife when she was pregnant.

First of all, I wouldn't have colorized the image, or whatever that effect is. It's a very, very nice composition, I think. Leave it in b/w, pump up the contrast. Congrats on a nice bit of work.

As for the Leah's comment, that's just nutty. I mean, what in the hell? Does she thing this is sexual or something like that? Patrick, just ignore people like that.
