Theodoli Castle

In 1365, as attested by a plaque placed inside the castle, it is said that Oddone Colonna, future Pope Martin V, was born there, although there are similar testimonies also in the feud Colonna di Genazzano. The famous leader Marcantonio Colonna, winner of the battle of Lepanto, had to cede both the feud and the castle for debts, which thus came among the properties of the Massimo. They sold it in 1575 to the Theodoli for the large sum of 20,000 Roman scudi. First Cardinal Mario and then Prince Carlo Theodoli, renovated both the village and the castle.
