but I can't help looking at it! I understand the intent behind it - little child looking like they're in prayer - but there is just something truly horrid about the male figure - is this intentional?

 

The image is a little cluttered around the head due to the street furniture; shallower dof needed? Great contrast between the white and blacks so I'm wondering if you have tinted the ground - it looks too pink to be natural!

 

All in all, a fun photo, awful, but fun! :-)

i know shallower dof would be nice, the pick is because of the c41 BW and scanning from the print , and to be too lazy to fix it in PS before uploading.

Just to clarify my comment above which I've re-read. I don't mean "Truly awful" in a bad sense. There is something sinister about the religous character which gives me the creeps! I mean "Truly awful" in the sense of 'I wouldn't want it put up on my wall', but I do have a morbid fasination with this image. Technically it is a good photo (except as mentioned before the dof), so I hope that my comment didn't read as criticism. Sorry for any confusion.
