vlad po... 1 Posted December 13, 2003 Just normal discussion on photo.net...about rating system or POW. Did you try B&W? Link to comment
gudermane 0 Posted December 13, 2003 Great! I like it!! But I saw this dream in colours :)) What is POW ? Link to comment
vlad po... 1 Posted December 14, 2003 POW means Picture Of the Week. You can easily see this kind of emotions behind some of *critique* when they discussing POW. Link to comment
gudermane 0 Posted December 14, 2003 Vlad, I am sorry, I am afraid I didn't get you :( ..What emotions and what discussion do you speak about ? :) Link to comment
fya 0 Posted December 14, 2003 Without a doubt the original is the best depiction. If any type of border treatment was to be considered it should be ragged and torn... Link to comment
vlad po... 1 Posted December 16, 2003 You may look, for example at discussion about the current POW (http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=1662169). You nightmair Natalja is a *normal* way (say *reality*) to socialize on photo.net, even when discussing POW. But take it easy, just some sort of side idea. I wouldn't argue about the white border in this certain case, looks like Balaji is right. But I also wouldn't generalize this idea. After I looked at this image one more time I also feel something strange, like if in B&W it became less light. Maybe just because the disappeared color changed light allocation? I realize that color is important here at least by the folder name. If to let it aside, would be interesting to know how do you explain to yourself why the color is critical, closer to reality? Sorry for stupid question, but I didn't quite get the point about color. Link to comment
matt_o 0 Posted December 30, 2003 Scary! For sure colour. This picture in black and white is like um... a steak without pepper and salt. Or a grilled cheese sandwich without ketchup. Or something. Link to comment
