Thank you Todd, This was not too long after we received 14 inches of snow. Another photographer pointed him out to me. The bird at first was near a tree base and blended in so well that I did not see it. He just sat there with his prey and let us photograph away. We did not get near and let the hawk enjoy the meal. The nice thing about this day is my middle grandson is interested in photography and was out with me. He had my old Canon Rebel and a 70-300 zoom and got a few photos. Of course Grandpa had to do a little cropping in photoshop but all is well. Be safe.

Hi Brian, this has a nice warm tone overall. Great portrait of one of my favorite birds of prey. BTW, how do you like the 90D? I’m considering upgrading my 80D for the faster burst rate of the 90.

Hi Charles and thank you. This was just a lucky catch, right place at the right time. I like the 90D and upgraded from a Rebel T5i that my grandson will now use. I don't know about the 80 D quality so I cannot comment. The 90D is great but it is not a forgiving camera. If you are dead nuts on with everything you will get an outstanding photo. But with all the resolution it tends to show our mistakes. I definitely have no regrets and have paired it with my Sigma 150-600C. I look forward to seeing some of your photos.
