Lake Tahoe Storm

matt_smith11

I headed to this pre-scouted location at sunset during an approaching snow storm. I was hoping to have the sun go below the horizon and illuminate the underside of the clouds but the clouds on the horizon stopped this from happening. Instead the upperpart of the sky glowed. I added the grad. Tobaco filter to acentuate the warm color. The blue of the lake is natural and the color overall was not adjusted in Photoshop. This is the color on the slide. Appature is around f22, shutter around 3 seconds, hence the blur foggy looking water.*After seeing how this looks on the Web I have to say that the JPG and/or the Web has made the water look more purple then it really was...I'd say about 2 degrees out of 10 more purple.
