michaellinder 16,613 Posted July 26, 2020 Ken, this scene which you captured so well is quite fascinating. The statue appears to represent a favorable relationship between a person and nature; he appears to have rescued a drowning bird. To me, the flower arrangement supports this interpretation. From a technical point of view, the image is flawless. But its true strength lies in the feelings you have about the world. - - My best always, michael Link to comment
Ken Ratcliffe 108,197 Posted July 27, 2020 Michael, many thanks for your super comment, as always very welcome and pleasing. The statue represents the "Ancient Mariner" The Ancient Mariner is an old sailor who shoots and kills an albatross. The other sailors think that this will bring them bad luck, and they force him to wear the dead albatross on a rope around his neck so that they will not be punished for his crime. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is the longest major poem by the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, written in 1797–98. Best regards Ken Link to comment
