chrisdrew 0 Posted June 10, 2001 This was my first roll with my new zoom lens. I thought this pic turned out really nice. What does everyone else think? Link to comment
markrupert 0 Posted June 11, 2001 Hi Chris, I think the composition could be strengthened by eliminating some of the empty space to the left of the cat's head, moving the head more off-center. I also find the blade of grass in front of the cat's nose somewhat distracting. Here's a link to a very well-done cat photo somebody else posted on another photo site. I especially like the way the photographer has used the foliage to frame the cat; and the sharpness of focus on the cat's face, which provides a crystal clear view of the eyes and nose and an almost tactile impression of the fur. http://www.photoblink.com/imageview.asp?imageid=13948&groupby=subjectid&value=16&page=1 Mark Link to comment
greenpalm 0 Posted June 11, 2001 Very pretty delicate side lighting. I like the fact that the back ground is solid and undistracting. The DOF works pretty well. The composition is a bit off, the cat's head is too much in the middle for me, and the blade of grass on the cat's nose is a little distracting. I think it's a great start with the new lens. Keep it up! Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
