image-flash 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Very nice but... to my opinion I would have crop 1/3 of the left part Link to comment
claudegagne 0 Posted December 4, 2003 I've kept the left part because it gives information of where the event was held Link to comment
desert rat 0 Posted December 4, 2003 the left part of the image is the best part. the building's striped look, going off in perspective lines up perfectly with the bikers back, making it look more like streeks from speed, not a building., mabe if you could lower the contrast of the building, it will bring out the biker a bit more, in particular, the dark windows overhangs. Guest Guest Posted December 4, 2003 If you removed the left part, you'd lose half the dynamic that is so perfectly created by the motion of the cyclists and perspective lines of the building. You've managed to create a photograph which mimics a kind of comic book-like style - right down to the sun's reflection creating a point of focus from where they've cycled. This rocks... nice one! PS. how did you get the lead cyclist illuminated? It looks like he's got a mirror's refelction lighting him... Link to comment
claudegagne 0 Posted December 4, 2003 This was taken with the help of a journalist of LaPresse newspaper. I help him to take his photo and he help me taking mine. The lighting comes from a handheld flash at the cyclist height and I was down on my knee with the camera laying on the ground (didn't see what I was firering exactly) Link to comment
anthony kohn 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Wow!! This is a wonderful capture. The effect of the synched flash giving the surreal sensation, combined with the building "speed streaks", sense of motion and just wow factor, makes this a real great image. I guess you were at the wide end of your zoom? Did you originally shoot this vertically or portrait before you cropped? Link to comment
claudegagne 0 Posted December 4, 2003 Yes it was at 24mm and horizontally held. I've cropped the fences. Link to comment
ivo_miesen 0 Posted December 6, 2003 Great shot, especially shooting from below gives the special touch. Ivo Link to comment
