michaellinder 16,613 Posted April 9, 2020 Laurent, I see you posted another remembrance of one of my old buddies - the church. In reading your narrative, I may agree that the snow is the canvas for the extraordinarily artistic patterns, but nature is the artist. You, on the other hand, are the artist who created such a fabulous image. The composition shows the snow patterns leading the eye toward the graveyard which, in turn, leads the eye to the church. The lighting and contrast couldn't be any better. Finally, the detail and texture are mesmerizing. Superior b & w work! - - My best always, michael Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted April 9, 2020 Michael..Thank you for the very kind appreciation on this shot which I post a month ago but reworked/converted to B/W on the suggestion of one of our PN colleagues.Snow as I am sure you remember from your time up north is difficult for the camera to seize ;this shot was taken at midday and it is in PP that the snow fully revealed the artistic shapes it assumed under high winds and I am glad it caught your keen eye.Merci et salutations amicales-Laurent Link to comment
Karl Schuler 48 Posted April 10, 2020 It looks like a full moon scene. A little bit spooky. Link to comment

DGorinstein 20 Posted April 11, 2020 Cher Laurent: The scene seems familiar, the beautiful church surrounded by the quiet of the snow. However, the lighting on this image is just superb. You always manage to bring in magic to a quotidian scene and make it shine, stand out, and captivate the viewer, as you so adroitly have done here. My sincere admiration for your work. Kindest regards and best wishes. DG Link to comment

vincentoiseau 83 Posted April 12, 2020 Hi Laurent, the way you turned this photo of a church in snow into this hauntingly beautiful contrasty B & W is really something! The viewer's eye is led straight to the church. I like the sparkling snow surface. Very well done! Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
