First of all, I know the photo quality is horrible. The season is so dark here that it makes almost impossible to shoot anything. So I figured I'd go outside after dark to shoot some traditional ghost images. You all know those "authentic" ghost shots that are grainy and all... Well I thought it's time to have my own "authentic" X-Files shots... Here we go, the first in line. By the way. It IS unedited.

Perkeles! I think you've done rather well with this one... Nothing wrong with letting your imagination run wild. That G3 is a fun camera to work with - I enjoy using mine.

Perkeles? Quite interesting. We have that word in Finnish and it means the Devil. I wonder what it means in language of yours. Just interested.

This is my attempt to create an "authentic" ghost photo. You all know

those x-files type of photos of "real" ghosts with a lot of grain an

all in them.

THis photo was taken in really a bad lighting situation for

photography in general which helped me to create the look of the

photo.

The shutter speed was set to max (15sec) on my G3 and if I remember

right, the ISO speed was 400... This is not a double exposure as my

camera doesn't directly support it. Instead I was standing in that

position for 7 seconds and after that I ran behind the camera.

Your critique is welcome as always.

And you're welcome to my portfolio of course...

This is actually a reposted critique request and I'm reposting to

keep me active on photo.net while I'm so busy building my company

that I don't have time to shoot any photos. I hope to be back during

the spring with some fresh content.

Thank you 8)

Jani, it is a nicely ballanced composition, and the "ghost" looks very human...... The light and dark parts are completing each other. I have answered your comment at my folder, please read it.Pnina Evental

I'm not sure what this is or how you did it, but I like the color streaming down and the railings flowing up. The hunched figure draws it al together. My nine year old son Jack likes it too, and he's a tough critic for PN shots. Thanks.
