Matanuska River Delta
Knik means "fire" in the Denaʼina Athabaskan language. Migratory waterfowl are faintly visible in this evening sky above Palmer Hay Flats, a marshy wetlands adjacent to Knik Arm, & the head of Cook Inlet, where both the Matanuska and Knik rivers empty.
