vincentoiseau 83 Posted July 6, 2019 In the butterfly garden in Digne-les-Bains, southern France, it's easy to spot the most beautiful butterflies and other exotic looking insects. This scarce wallowtail was completely intact, which is even rare there. This is not the same butterfly species as in my other swallowtail photo. This is the iphiclides podalirius, for those interested. Your comments are very welcome. Link to comment
Todd Kraenzel 1 Posted July 9, 2019 A beautiful speciman Vincent, well taken! I need to study up on my butterfly entomology, I have been looking at some Swallowtails out my office window today but have no idea what their proper name is. I did get a few photos, but I get funny looks when I grab my camera and run for the door, lol! Todd Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted July 9, 2019 Hi Todd, thanks for your funny comments! I am used to getting remarks from my younger colleagues at the office too when I look at birds that fly by, like the beautiful peregrine falcon (I'm in an office 120 m above the ground). You learn to live with it. Looking for the names of the insects you photograph is challenging, but also instructive. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
