Around 40 now

vincentoiseau

Rome, june 1984. This boy was playing with his toys, oblivious to the world around him. Having his photo taken was even more fun. Shot handheld with an Olympus Zuiko 50 mm 1.8 lens.

This little guy was full of laughter, having fun and not minding the world at all. Children can do that, we lose this ability as we get older. He must be around 40 years of age now. Your comments are very welcome.

Hi Patrick,

thanks for your nice comments! Yes, the little guy obviously enjoyed this; I remember the moment well. Kind regards, Vincent

Vincent, this young man was laughing exceptionally hard, as evidenced by his eyes being closed. Street portraits like this appeal much more to me - at least usually, than studio shots. I find his clothing quite interesting - a shirt with rolled up sleeves in contrast to what appear to be rather heavy socks. - - My best, michael

Hi Michael,

thanks for your very nice comments! Yes, his clothing is a rather strange combination of summer and winter elements; the socks are 'heavy' indeed. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Jacek,

thanks for your great comment! Pure emotion in behavior has become more scarce over the years. What you say about people staring at a smartphone screen rings very true. Kind regards, Vincent

What a great looking smile, Vincent. I see he is holding some model cars which I enjoyed when I was small. Well groomed and dressed with some nice and well worn shoes. I like the socks but am not familiar with them. They look well made with a very intricate design. The lighting is excellent with a lot of details. Wonderful timing capturing that great expression and pose. You have seized a very memorable occasion. Best regards, Paul.

Hi Paul and Dana,

thank you for these wonderful comments! The boy was really having fun and I was lucky to capture his smile. The socks look rather 'heavy' for the summer season. Kind regards, Vincent
