michaellinder 16,613 Posted February 26, 2019 Hopefully, the next round of debates among presidential hopefuls will appear as mild and serene as this one. I really like the alcove set back from the sidewalk (street?) and the lone object that doesn't come close to looking like the plants and the bicycles. And I even allowed myself a chuckle. DGorinstein 20 Posted March 1, 2019 Hello, distant, yet close friend. What a phenomenally positive transformation I have seen in your photos since a few months ago. This one is "bright"...in many respects: The conception and composition is not only a pure genius but vast experience and superb taste and equilibrium. It is bright.....because it is merely lit...the bright colors vis a vis previous images rather grayish (but equally marvelous though). Bright, pleasantly so to the view. Flowing yet frozen, dancing and talking in rhythm. A very special moment you were able to catch in this travel through the Galaxy. (please refer to the last page of the book). Warmest personal regards. DG Link to comment
stephanie_c1 1 Posted April 27, 2019 hi Jack .. you create life , mood and feel to inanimate objects. I miss the old P.N street shots. there were some real good ones. this is a reminder that there are still some good ones out there. I think of all the street photographers you rank as one of the best.. either you have it or you don't and YOU just seem to just get it! Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 27, 2019 Thanks, Stephanie. I'm just getting back to PN after a two-month hiatus to refresh my mind. Nowadays I am too often disappointed with this site and the level of creative commentary which is very low when compared with PN before the changeover (a cataclysmic event I refer to as The Great Extinction). Of course, stimulating comments are the result of stimulating photography and here also I'm afraid we've taken a traumatic hit. Not that there aren't many capable photographers here but often their pictures are a dead end of sorts; they provoke admiration but not further speculation except maybe on a technical level, kind of like impeccably dressed models on a runway. Perhaps this is just a manifestation of a deeper cultural or societal problem (and I wouldn't be surprised if it was) but it seems both intelligent dialogue and a an abiding sense of curiosity have become endangered species on both PN and in the world at large. HermanRoes 6 Posted April 28, 2019 Jack, a pleasure for the eyes. Forms, elements and colors and it is not immaculate! As life is wonderful and still a bit incomplete. Thank you for commenting my work. In the past I could ad an answer directly on the page. But its always different in Photo.net I will never ever find my way in this quagmire . Excuse my complaining.
