This tulip was the freshest flower in a bouquet and I decided to photograph both this and the most developed flower (in my photo 'Translucent'). Your comments are very welcome.

A delicate, exceptionally beautiful rendering of this flower, Vincent. The minute, very sharp detail displays the patterns of the bloom and the leaves distinguish this image from other, mundane, flower photos. - - - My best always, michael

Vincent, this is striking in its elegance and it subtle blend of color. Such a simple form but a picture that would grace any wall on which it was hung. DOF is crucial here and you nailed it.

Hi Jack,

thank you for your appreciative comments! I have always liked this image myself, but had discussions with other photographers about DoF and the leaf that is out of focus, so I'm glad you like it. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Paul,

thank you very much for yet another amicable comment! This is really a 'studio' shot (I don't actually have a studio), so I could control the conditions; I took my time to shoot this photo. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Evgeny,

thank you for your friendly comments and appreciation! I'm pleased with the words 'precisely performed image', as they describe the effort that went into shooting this photo well for me. I could control the lighting and focus precisely and I took my time; and as you know (better than most of us). that's a luxury you don't experience often outdoors. Kind regards, Vincent
