That's a beauty with great texture and colour. I love the expression. I am a bit disappointed by the oof foreground branch, and I would prefer the background be a bit less busy, but I can understand the problems considering the subject. Where are you in Wales? We used to have a place near Bala.

Nice photo, with lots of detail...I would say even more detail than one might see of the bird were it in your hand. The bird's attitude shows off the great personality these little birds possess! It would be nice to know what you went through to get this shot.

I'd have cloned out all those specular hilights in the background.

Thanks for the comments. Live in west Wales, Pembroke. (www.pbase.com/abwhitt) AS regards taking the shot, I was just walking through the woods and came across this little chap! Used a Canon 10, Sigma 70-300APO lens.
