vincentoiseau 83 Posted February 2, 2019 The more 'tourist' point of view of the Spanish stairs. This Agfapan 100 negative is heavily scratched, so the editing took a while. There are way less people in this image than in the first one and probably almost all of them are tourists; not many Romans are outside around noon. As always, your comments are very welcome. michaellinder 16,613 Posted February 4, 2019 Tourism or not, Vincent, this image works at least as well as the previous ones you posted. Like the others, it is quite dynamic due to the variety of activities going on. The architecture in the background is spectacular. And, last but not least, this image includes a flower kiosk, which contrasts well tonally with the balance of the image. - - My best always, michael Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted February 4, 2019 Hi Michael, thanks for your friendly comments! There is obviously a lot of difference between the three points of view I chose and the dynamics of the crowds differ too, although the first two were taken minutes from each other (the three soldiers are visible in both photos). The architecture is beautiful indeed. If you are fond of architecture and (Renaissance) culture in general, Rome (and Florence!) are must-see places. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted February 4, 2019 Sadly, I have no travel plans that currently involve Europe. But, one can hope . . . Link to comment
pablowarko 1 Posted March 7, 2020 I thing that B&W is a really great choice for this image, Vincent. Looking at the clothes I would say this was done a while ago. I really like that you included the stairway on the right side. Excellent tones and textures that gives the image a fantastic look. Best regards, Paul. Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted March 7, 2020 Hi Paul, at the time I shot this image I was only doing B&W film photography, not only because I then preferred B&W over color, but also because of the fact I could get Agfapan 100 and some other films cheap as a student. Photography was one of my subsidiary subjects in university. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
