Yves Petronin 43 Posted February 26, 2020 Very nice composition and lovely attitude, captured at the very exact time. Nearly perfect shot, but I find the gray shadow of the arm on the shoulder and the back a bit distracting, a but hardly defined and also on the right of the hair. Perhaps this can be adjusted, slightly blurred in editing. Congrats anyway. Reminds me of the "bedroom eyes" expression used occasionnally by Raymond Chandler in some of his detective novels...
alberto_loi 8 Posted March 1, 2020 Yves: thank you for your tips, and mostly for the "bedroom eyes". We two share the passion for Chandler. Very kind from you.
Yves Petronin 43 Posted March 1, 2020 One more look, at the ravishing picture and the lady and her picture are definitely part of the Chandler's mystique.... What kind of light is used ? Is is a "beauty bowl" type ? I am sometimes playing with a 80 cm X 80 cm softbox, but the light used here is much harder, magnificently mostly , save for some of the small and neat gray shadows...
alberto_loi 8 Posted March 2, 2020 Yves, for this photograph I used a circular "beauty" with a diameter of 60 cm. as main light, and a white "umbrella" as secondary light, to avoid shadows. But now I am used to make portraits in the morning in a room facing south-east. So I use the sun light, that is the perfect light. If sun light is not enough, I add a little bit of the flash of the camera (1/30 or 1/60 of the full flash light). I adjust the flash light until I am completely satisfied.I thank you again for your attention to my works. Regards.
