sammm 0 Posted November 20, 2003 I came on this as I was going through some old photos with which I have never done anything. I think it has promise. I prefer to be a minimalist with photoshop, but do I really have to do something about either that black line in background behind her or the blown highlights in the two left hand corners? Thoughts are very much appreciated! Thank you! Link to comment
michel_brosius 0 Posted November 21, 2003 A very beautiful image, but also an expression of splendid child, framing for me is too near on the right. In a friendly way. Link to comment
amanda mumma 0 Posted November 24, 2003 You could always burn in the blown out highlight on the bottom LH corner easily and this would look beautiful on a delicately textured paper. She is a beautiful little girl. Link to comment
imanol 0 Posted December 9, 2003 Great shot!. Great!! BW good choise. This is my favorite of your ... I like it. Link to comment
sammm 0 Posted December 9, 2003 Thanks for your comments. I was actually surprised at how well this one was received, and think I have been guilty of overfocusing on some small flaws (like the bar of dark in the background). Photo.net helped rescue the negative from an eternity in a dark box. Link to comment
eleanor 1 Posted December 29, 2003 I love this and the two girls conferring on the playground. One of their biggest strengths is that they convey a childlike innocence and yet maintaining the dignity of the child. Very difficult to do but very compelling when you succeed. Congratulations! Sandeha Lynch 5 Posted January 16, 2004 Sam, you've got great subject matter at hand ... I hope you stick with BW for a while longer. Link to comment
bacsa 0 Posted February 26, 2004 I disagree about your concerns. The blown-out highlight just helps showing her "profile", which could be lost in a gray background, while the black stripe gives some kind of frame that prevents my attention slipping off from the face. Try it: get the black stripe out in PS, it doesn't work.(I did.) Great photo. Link to comment

maripoezia 0 Posted December 19, 2004 6/6 Excellent expression, great crop! As to the line in the back, I wouldn't ps it. Either way I don't think it would do anything to enhance or take away from the image. Link to comment
