jastrzebski 0 Posted November 18, 2003 I ventured out in search for fall colours in my grey November city - but this is the best I have found. Thanks. Link to comment
stefano.muzio 0 Posted November 18, 2003 Not very original, but very well done and great impact. I like it. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted November 18, 2003 I disagree...I think it is original. The composition is striking, and not everyone sees and appreciates such wonderful patina. Link to comment
aneta_a1 0 Posted November 18, 2003 I like Fall. This door must have belonged to somebody who liked Fall too. Greetings to everybody who felt they like that season after having a look at this picture. Link to comment
kevinbriggs 0 Posted November 19, 2003 Very nice detail along with the beautiful colors. Nice work all around! Link to comment
r_christopher_vest 0 Posted November 20, 2003 excellent. appropos the guy who said 'not very original', i'd offer that a sunset or pretty face aren't very "original" either. but any subject -- if done with taste, nuance and sensitivity-- will achieve originality. and so you have with this shot. good eye! shoot us some winter colors next! jastrzebski 0 Posted November 20, 2003 Many thanks to all of you for kind comments. I never expected that this photograph will be more popular that my BW work that I am more proud of. But I am not the judge here. I especially like the general remark about originality from Christopher - I could not agree more. Originality, although not a virtue on its own, reveals itself in the art of photography in simple, subtle things rather than in choice of a very original subject or choice of a very drastic tonality etc. etc. If it were not so - almost all photos should be rated 1 - 2 for originality since the same motifs, subjects repeat themselves all the time. g1 0 Posted November 20, 2003 The colour would indeed stand out on a grey day, and the texture of the cracked paint is very nicely detailed. Composition has been thought through too, but for me originality is lacking. The hole is the panel draws some interest, but I think the subject needs to be older in terms of years and design, in order to really grab my attention. Link to comment
maxli 0 Posted November 20, 2003 Very nice use of color theory. I will study in Krakow next spring. Can't wait to see the city. Link to comment

martin_paul 0 Posted December 2, 2003 nice shot. great colour and texture. Is the hole and handle competing for attention though? Just a thought! Regards, Martin Paul. Link to comment
