shoe at baker beach, salton sea

bombay beach was an awesome place to shoot film. this photo shows the

strange texture and mood of the place. i'm looking for

review/critique/comments on this photo. tone? framing? what's wrong

or not right about this photo?

This certainly is an interesting find. the boot has a lot of character for an old shoe. It is very well exposed, especially considering the lack of contrast that the subject offered. You may have benefited from moving the boot. I'm not sure the cliff(?) in the background is helping the overall composition as much as the plain background of the sea may have offered. If you were opposed to intervening that much with a found shot, I would suggest to have at least flattened the mound of OOF sand that interferes with the heel of the boot. I think a tighter crop may also be beneficial. Nicely done nonetheless.
