armindo_lopes 1 Posted November 17, 2003 A little flat but the eyes are worthing my points... Link to comment
the grey house 0 Posted November 17, 2003 Another wonderful portrait, love the eye's of course, the expression is fab...truly great work...congratulations. Link to comment
bradley_hague 0 Posted November 17, 2003 I like the color but I am curious as to how much was digitally altered? And while I like the contrast with the eyes I might have looked for a little more color in the skin. But that's me Link to comment
tamaral 0 Posted November 17, 2003 I will later put the original photo so you can all see with what I have started and decide what you prefer. Link to comment
michel_brosius 0 Posted November 17, 2003 Framing exellent, Superbe composition, very good treatment of the colors.Congratulation. Link to comment
dabar 0 Posted November 17, 2003 I have followed your work for some time, and once again am awed by the beauty and quality of your photos. I would love to know how you achieve the subtle colors and translucent skin tones. This is, for me, one of your best close portraits. All of the elements fall precisely into place. Wonderful! tamaral 0 Posted November 17, 2003 I always use Photoshop. Sometime I use it a bit and sometime a lot. I usually saturate or desaturate some colors and add some light. Link to comment
digitaldee 0 Posted November 18, 2003 I like the colors, in particular the contrast among the light red/orange of the lips and the hairs, the blue of the eyes and the light gray of the face. Link to comment
jlewis 0 Posted November 18, 2003 Another outstanding self-portrait, this one a bit haunting but, as with all your work, immediately engaging. Well done. Link to comment
bfabean 0 Posted November 19, 2003 very interesting shot - effective crop - sort of face forward, kind of skewed - the eyes are always dramatic - the mouth/lips this time different, nicely expressive - nice wash out :: might be interesting without the shadow under the chin but maintaining the jawline... yet another success! stephan_funke 0 Posted November 19, 2003 One more good image from Tamara. I wonder about Bradleys question : " how much Photoshop...." We can see that this is an IMAGE and no PHOTO any more. It was and is not common to ask darkroom workers "HOW MUCH ......." Why is it now common to ask the lightroom workers, often with a negative attitude between the rows. Link to comment
AntonioC 8 Posted November 19, 2003 This is really a good one. How much is make-up and how much coloring? I really like the result, so I'd like to know more about the process you used. Did you hand-color a BW or worked out the saturation per-single-color? Thanks for sharing. ciao Link to comment
tamaral 0 Posted November 19, 2003 Here is the photo I started from and one of other version of same photo. I would like to know what you think now and witch one do you prefer. Thanks Link to comment
bfabean 0 Posted November 20, 2003 the untoched is interesting an has its own appeal from a stark slice of life approach - i like the 1st modified for the reaosns i stated earlier - this latest mod... more stark and haunting and stands on the strengths of that approach :: all 3 are good strong work in my opinion Link to comment
rochan 0 Posted November 20, 2003 Kind of reminds me of Marilyn Manson!! The style, I mean ... ;) Great tones, expression and cropping. Link to comment
josh_thornton 0 Posted November 20, 2003 I really like the original photo posted. 2nd would be the nearly monochromatic photo, and lastly the original...so in all I would say that your manipulations and your choice in what you would consider your "final" image was great. I don't agree with your removal of the strap from her right shoulder, seems to modify the image a bit too much for my taste, but i'm a purist. I'd love to know how you got from your original image to the one posted. Great work, good cropping choice as well. Link to comment
gianfranco_vialli 0 Posted November 20, 2003 A studio type photo of a very beautiful woman is the first impression I got, those piercing blue eyes is very haunting as well as attractive and appears to reach out and grab your soul. Link to comment
