"Newton's Apple"

jimmcnitt

For better or worse, Newton's studies of motion and gravitation re-kindled scientific inquiry, hastening the birth of the modern, industrial world. Canon D60, EF 50mm Macro for apple and all gear photography. CG render (Bryce) for tree and background

I like the way you take an idea and create an image with it. Lots to look at in this composition. The only thing that bothers me somewhat is that the figure on the apple looks flat and not like it's really lying on the apple. Not sure how you'd get around that. Still an interesting piece of work, as usual!

Brilliant! -- What an imagination you have Jim. Full of celestial and earthly symbolism. I love the background composed of gears but evoking the crenelated walls of an old city. Really wonderful.

Jim, you keep outdoing yourself. Even the apple and the person have this intricate texture worked into their surfaces, holy mackerel! How long did it take you to put this together? The 2nd version btw is definitely better. Only nit is that if you're going to create shadows on the bottom portion of the apple, they should also be on the round metal gear-thingy so that the light is consistent.

Kind of like a modern day "stained glass window" telling a pictoral story. Fantastic image yet again Jim.

I just really like how your images are not just eyecandy but always has a profound thought behind.

Very inspiring.

This is a great image, though I still think the revised version has the same problem as the first one. The figure, though correctly lit, still seems superimposed on the apple. Maybe its just because he would slide off, IF gravity kicks in :-) Granted, with that pose, I dont have any ideas how you could solve that problem.

The idea is cool. Is the man supposed to be on the apple? If so, he's not laying on the part of the apple that would make this look right. If he's on the apple, then he's balanced on the side of it and would fall off. If he's "in" the apple like an embryo, then his knees would wrap around the core.

I have it but haven't had time to use it much. Can you wrap the person around an object in Poser (as in, the core?) Perhaps rotating her clockwise and tucking her knees to the right might help. Darn, now which machine did I load that program on...

I can't keep up with your creativity Jim!

I definitely have to comment on this one.

Ditto what everyone said.

Love it! Love it!

It's all been said Jim!

For me you're the undisputed master of this genre!

The thought that goes into your images, coupled with your wonderful technical ability, combines to produce images that are both great to look at and something to think about.

More power to your graphics tablet!

Best regards, Chris
