very nice shot. I like how you shot on white ground so you really don't see where the borders are, and you feel as if the spider was right on your web-browser.

This succeeds on two levels: It is sharp and accurate, as it should be for the record, and perfectly lit (pray tell, with what?). But it is also truly beautiful. Stunningly beautiful. That doesn't happen very often with spider photos, which I have taken quite a few of. As for originality... this photo is truly distinctive. Unique, in my experience. This sets a new standard for me in spider and bug photography.

a real portrait showing the essens of a ground hunting spider. can you please take one of a "jumping spider" (not one that jumps but the name of the spider class, my favorate ones).

 

way beyond technicallity - but still let us know the lens details on the G5.

Thanks for your positive comments guys. I'm quite suprised this image has recieved such high ratings. I only shot this image at f6 wich makes me wish i stopped and took the time to take a couple more at f8 to squeese in a bit more DOF. This was shot with a plain old 50mm lens placed in the reversed postion.

Absolutely great! I have tried to shoot closeups/macros of spiders and I can't get close enough with my eye to the camera because I'm afraid the damn thing is gonna jump on me :)
