Hi Holger and PDE! The Iguazu Falls are on the border of Brazil and Argentina. In this photo, Brazil is on the left and Argentina is on the right. In the centre, are the Garganta del Diablo. The river that flows in the centre is the Iguazu River. This photo only shows the central part of the falls. See the other photos in my Iguazu Falls Gallery. These falls were described for the first time in the 16TH Century by the Spanish Cabeza de Vaca. In the last century, the falls were the setting for the film The Mission (1986), directed by Roland Joffé and score by Ennio Morricone. I think that, currently, the Iguazu Falls are the brazilian tourist attraction more attractive and safer than Rio. See more in Wikipedia. Enjoy Iguazu Falls.
