Snorkel Hawaii (Best Large)

vincetylor

www.hawaiianphotos.net/kauaiphotos.htmTaken at a secluded sliver of beach called Hideaways on the Northshore of Kauai. Initially I wanted to wait until the snorker was out of the scene. However, once he was closer I kind of liked having him in there. Any thoughts?? Your comments and opinions are always appreciated. www.hawaiianphotos.net/Kauaitours.htm

The swimmer definitely enhances the shot for sure. I like the leaves hanging down from the top but not the ones coming into the frame from the right. I tend to prefer your shots which have a person in them somewhere. Adds a nice accent which many landscape shots lack. In fact, if you need me to come out and snorkel for some of your shots ....... I can be had.

I like very much your photos. It reminds me on the beauty of my country because Croatia is also very beautifull with the Adriatic see and all of the beaches and islands. It is a pitty for me that I do not leave there. But maybe when I get old I will decide to go leave there.

nice job vincent, you consistantly create lovely, inviting images, full of color and interest without resorting to Photoshop, being a velvia fan, i appreciate the color saturation. good compostion, i am drawn in. thanks for sharing

The lone snorkler is an invitation to imagine ourselves in the scene. Except that your scenes are always so meticulously crafted and the landscape so enticing, one hardly needs an invitation. --jim

Another stunner from you, like the framing by the leaves, and whilst I normally don't go for people in shots, this one adds interest.

Wish I was there.

You really impress me with your skill in making the hardest time of the day look fantastic. The framing is my favorite part and the one leave from the top right gives a nice path for the eye to find the snorkler. Great job!!!!

Haven't we seen this one before, Vince? But then I tend to think that about many of your pics, since they all look the same. This is clearly one of your better efforts. The colours look almost natural and the border of vegetation works very well. Douglas' comment about you not using Photoshop made me smile, but at least with this image you are for once justified in using the polarising filter that's surgically welded to the front of your lens. Aloha !

Hey Trevor, I thought the polarizor WAS a part of my lens. You mean it does come off?? Shooting in the tropics without a polarizor, is like shooting portraits without film!....know what I mean? Thanks for the rare visit.

Ken, you were going to do underwater-lava photography....remember? Snorkeling would only get you ready for that!...after the barefoot lava shots....if there was anything left of you!

Thanks for all of your comments. The snorkeler stays!

I just finished raking up a ton of leaves in my yard today; near the end, a freezing rain started. I think you should most assuredly keep the snorkeler so that I can continue to pretend that he is me! I love the color in this. Regards.

If you zoom in tight on the snorkler you can see that it is actually Trevor following you around waiting for that one moment to...

The only experiance I have had with lava was the soap my mother used to wash out my mouth when I was a bad boy.

You're right Tom -- I see the dorsal fin now that you mention it.

And damn Tom ! ...... You must have been a bad dude for her to use 'Lava' soap on you ...... !! ....... She must have caught you using daylight film - indoors or Provia or something.

This picture warmed me up!! It's freezing cold and windy here, but I can feel the sun on my back when I look at this! Thanks for sharing!!

So cool~

I wish you had scissors to trim the leaves sticking out from the right-front side. :)

Maybe not nice to say this, but I envy the snorkeling man a little (very little, though) more than the photographer who can capture such a nice image...

Snorkeler definitely should stay! The lower left corner leaves me somewhat indifferent but the rest of the photo is so beautiful that it makes up for it. Nice job!
