Contemplating

A beautiful photo which works on many fronts. The model is perfectly framed, well lit and composed, and the depth of the background adds to the overall mood of "contemplation". Moreover, I like the setting, the freshness of the model contrasts nicely with the age of the surroundings. Elegant work, bravo.

To me, given the image's title, I find the subject's pose to be quite interesting. She must be in a deep meditative state, inasmuch as it must take a good amount of effort to maintain her body's position against the wall. As to the image's technical merits, I totally agree with John's observations.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I was thinking the end of the hallway (detail) pulled too much attention from the subject, and tried burring in out, but the three dimensional flow disappeared. Like anything, it is up to the viewer whether the overall dynamic or attention to subject is more important. If this was advertising the dress she was wearing, the blur would have been more appropriate.
