I think that a step to the left will capture the entire stair and will move the dark line outside the photo. That will make IMHO a much better photo

Good shot, very eyecatching

The central region of the stairwell, which is dark and devoid of any interest, diminishes the appeal of the image. You might consider using a digital editor to lighten this dark region so as to reduce its distractive effect.

Very dramatic. I agree with the suggestions to move the black area to the right, it is the center of interest in my opinion. It's the black hole that catches your attention!
