michaellinder 16,613 Posted October 2, 2017 Brett, this is a well seen and executed image. Despite the highly saturated colors of the musician's "uniform," his skin tone seems perfectly natural. He appears to be quite intense, even though he doesn't appear to show a whole lot of emotion. Looking at this image makes me wonder whether you enjoyed his playing. (If so, what was it?) thejohnsons 1 Posted October 3, 2017 Thanks for the feedback, I think the stage lights being purple and red enhanced the natural colurs of the clothes as I did not increase the saturation, although the original was slightly underexposed and when lifted may have also contributed to the look of oversatuaration. He does look a little deep in concentration during this song but is not always this serious. The photo was taken during a promotional video shoot, I just happen to be there visiting with a good friend that plays in the band and had my camera and new Tamron 70-200 f2.8 GS lens with me, so thought I would test it out in some difficult light and focussing situations - it performed very well and had a great time trying to get some decent shots. I normally take sports action so this was a challenge of remembering best settings for this environement. I think most are better executed rather than than capturing key moments of personality and context. Link to comment
