the grey house 0 Posted November 9, 2003 I could not disagree with Mike more, but hey that is only my opinion. This is a wonderful piece of work, you get to see two (at least) beautiful framed portraits in one image...you're work is wonderful, you're model perfect and this image is just super...very well done. james_oneill 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Paul: I went and had a look at both Mike's pictures and some of his comments. And I thought I was world weary, it's cheered me up. I wish I knew what he thought was pointles. Part of me says that dividing the picture up like this is just unnecessary, it would have fine left alone. The other part says, yes, but then it would be ordinary so why not make one part of the subject into a frame for the rest ? It's late here and I can't decide, but the first part is winning. Guest Guest Posted November 10, 2003 you have a lot of great stuff in your folders. i'd drop the rectangles, cheap photoshop gimmick. your work doesn't need it. Link to comment
leica_virgin2 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Hmm, I like it with the rectangle! Maybe it would also be good without it too... Very nice, but I'm sorry - I can't seem to find the pointless part of it; if you could just tell me -...? ;-) Link to comment
k._s._lovington 0 Posted November 11, 2003 Your photos are far too honest to benefit from any sort of calender-maker effect. I sincerely hope you don't do anything like this again. cheers Link to comment
xre 0 Posted November 11, 2003 Tamara, how blessed you are to have such a great model!! :) I'm torn on the rectangle, myself - it gives a graphic arts sort of punch to the image that is appealing, but it distracts from the facial expression. As usual, though, excellent technique - I find your portfolio inspiring. Is this window light? Hard to tell from the catchlights... Link to comment
