Elephant, Treetops

Is this photo interesting? If not, Why? What might be the main

hangups aesthetically? I would greatly appreciate feedback.

Well, Matthew, you asked if it was interesting or not. That depends.
Its interesting to you, and your friends and family, as (I assume) a record of a trip you took. I'm sure it was an cool trip.
To other people, however, this is simply someone else's vacation snapshot. Let this one reside happily in the family album.

In some ways this can be seen as just be another vacation snapshot. In other ways, this picture conveys a sense of loneliness to me, the solitary elephant on a gray day.

 

Maybe experiment with cropping and see if you can come up with something to reinforce that. And give us a better scan!
