www.ianleake.com 0 Posted November 7, 2003 Wow! Sometimes I wish I had the patience to take shots like this. As decisive a moment as anyone could ask for. Link to comment
marlene_degrood 0 Posted November 7, 2003 Truely wonderful shot. Great composition! I especially love the movement in the wing tips. As for one of the previous posters....why would anyone "hate herons"? Link to comment
mountaineer1965 0 Posted November 8, 2003 A truly graceful shot of a truly graceful bird. Well done! Craig Link to comment
robert_fisher 0 Posted November 9, 2003 George, is there anything in focus (by that I mean sharp) in this shot? Link to comment
geopappas 0 Posted November 9, 2003 Robert: Yes, in the original 3072x2048 (6 MP) photo, the head and torso are in relatively good focus. This might not show up as well here, since it has been reduced to ~ 800x600. While it might not be tack sharp (as in many still life photos), you need to remember that the bird is moving quickly (i.e., flying), there is low light (i.e., clouds), and I was tracking this bird with an (effective) 800mm lens by hand. the_busy_beaver 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Well done. It's nice to see good pictures of egrets (great?). I would happily have this hung on my wall. Link to comment
steve_poole 0 Posted November 29, 2003 My experience is that often people who hate herons have fish ponds. Herons are filthy koi thieves! GRRR! Link to comment
NimArt 1 Posted October 25, 2010 Excellent timing, very nice shot, it seems she is dancing, my best. Nima Link to comment
